Volunteer kennel managers wanted at Noah's ARC dog rescue, Mazarrón
This is a live-in position for volunteers at the well-known rescue centre near Mazarrón
Noah’s ARC, a registered dog rescue charity, is currently looking for volunteer kennel managers to join its team at
its rescue centre in El Saladillo, near Mazarrón. The charity, which is registered under number 7.971/1, focuses on rescuing injured, mistreated and abandoned dogs and plays an important role in supporting animal welfare in the local area.
The charity is seeking a couple who are able and willing to live on site and take responsibility for the day to day running of the kennels. This is a hands on role suited to people who love dogs and are looking for a meaningful challenge that makes a real difference.
Noah’s ARC is a small but very active organisation. Much of its funding comes from donations and from the sale of goods in its two charity shops, alongside fundraising events and occasional cash donations. Despite its size, the charity operates in a professional and efficient way, overseen by a small committee that provides governance and support.
The volunteer kennel managers would play a key role in maintaining the kennels and ensuring the wellbeing of the dogs in their care. Responsibilities include keeping the kennels clean and safe, overseeing daily routines and ensuring that all dogs receive the care and attention they need.
The role also involves arranging veterinary treatment when required, working closely with the charity’s veterinary provider, Happy Pets on
Camposol.
Regular communication with the Noah’s ARC Vice President is an important part of the position, with ongoing updates on the management and maintenance of the kennels. While the role carries responsibility, support is available. The charity plans to provide assistance for several hours a week from a kennel maid, and help from volunteer dog walkers is also on hand.
Previous experience of managing or owning dogs is essential, although experience in a kennel environment is not required. Applicants should be confident, organised and comfortable taking responsibility for the welfare of multiple dogs.
Accommodation is provided in the on site house, and all reasonable expenses incurred while working on behalf of Noah’s ARC, including utilities and WiFi, will be reimbursed. An allowance for food is also included.
Applicants will be pre screened and subject to standard background checks. Further details will be provided to shortlisted candidates.
