Until May 31 Wine Horse decorations 2026 on display in Caravaca
The embroidered harnesses and shawls are works of art in themselves and can be seen at the Compañía de Jesús venue in Caravaca
The decorative harnesses and shawls in which the Wine Horses of Caravaca de la Cruz were dressed for the fiestas which culminated in the Running on 2nd May are no won display until the end of the month at the former church of the Compañía de Jesús in the city.
Every year all of the “peñas” or fiestas groups compete to be awarded the prize for the best decoration, having spent thousands of man (and woman) hours preparing the accoutrements throughout the year, and in 2026 the top prize was won once again by the “Universo” group. Second and third went to “Júpiter” and “Caprichoso”, and with the top ten collections all on display there is also important recognition for “Al-Bino”, “Pura Sangre”, “Mel-Azules”, “Campeón”, “Terry”, “Escándalo” and “Aspirante”.
The exhibition is open every day of the week from 11.00 to 14.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00 and is well worth a visit to admire the dedicated craftsmanship and embroidery which goes into the creation of these magnificent works of art!
