San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

Until December 8 Exhibition of religious sculptures and accoutrements in Jumilla
Figures and adornments from the Semana Santa processions of Jumilla, the oldest in Murcia
2025 is the 25th anniversary of the addition of the figure of Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza to the traditional Semana Santa processions in Jumilla, which date back to the 15th century (making them the oldest on record in Murcia) and have been awarded International Tourist Interest status, and in celebration this exhibition entitled “María Spes Nostras” is being held at the Jerónimo Molina Natural Science and Ethnography museum until 8th December.
Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza features in the procession of the Penitents and this exhibition includes various of the sculptures paraded solemnly through the streets as well as some of the jewellery and other accessories with which they are adorned.
The exhibition can be visited until 8th December during normal museum opening times (Tuesday to Saturday 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00, Sundays 11.00 to 14.00).
