Until August 16 Annual fiestas in Fortuna
The Romans and Iberians fiestas celebrate the ancient history of Fortuna!
The annual fiestas of the “Sodales Íbero-romanos” in Fortuna (“sodales” deriving from an old Latin word meaning “companions” of “colleagues”) are held in celebration of the Roman and Iberian history of the area 2,000 years ago and culminate on 16th August 2026 in honour of the Feast Day of San Roque, the honorary Patron of the town. Roque, (Saint Roch) was a 14th-century man who was venerated as the guardian against the plague when it swept through Europe in the mid-14th century, and his name is to be found in many buildings and monuments throughout the Region of Murcia and the rest of Spain.
