

Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
Until 26 June Four conferences in Los Alcázares in the Fahrenheit 78.8 season
A range of fascinating topics under discussion at this season of in-depth analysis and reflection
For the third year running the “Fahrenheit 78.8” series of talks and conferences is being held in Los Alcázares between 30th May and 26th June, featuring speakers from a variety of fields offering insights into their specialities.
30th May: Pablo Simón a politologist (or political scientist) who has become one of the most respected commentators on political systems and the development of democracy in Spain and the rest of Europe. He currently teaches at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid and frequently appears on TV (on the La Sexta channel), writes for El País, and contributes to radio programs on Cadena SER.
5th June: Rosa Mª Calaf, a journalist with a long career as an international correspondent, having reported from more than 160 countries. She has won awards for her defence of free speech and is still an inspiration for young people aspiring to pursue a career in journalism.
12th June: Vicente Garrido, psychologist, criminologist and writer, is one of the leading experts in Spain on criminal behaviour and the psychological make-up of criminals. He specializes in serial murders, psychopaths, and violent crime and has published numerous books on these topics, as well as reaching a wider audience with appearances on the TV programme “Cuarto Milenio”.
26th June: Writer Carmen Posadas, with her Uruguayan-Spanish background, is one of the most prominent active writers in Spanish, and in 1998 won the Planeta prize for her work “Pequeñas infamias”. In a variety of literary genres she tackles the complexity of human nature with elecance and perspicacity, using refined prose and absorbing plot lines.
All of the presentations begin at 20.00 in the Town Hall of Los Alcázares.
