Torrevieja gives the green light to new hotel complex near the N-332
A long-dormant plot near La Mata that's been sitting empty since 1986 could finally be developed under new planning proposals

The plans propose a mix of hotels and tourist apartment blocks, something that wasn't previously permitted under the existing planning rules for the site. To make the most of the space, the proposal reduces the building footprint but pushes the permitted height up from four storeys to ten, meaning taller, slimmer buildings that free up more ground-level space for communal areas and leisure facilities. Also of interest: Young Alicante doctor loses leg in shark attack while on honeymoon
