The Club Náutico is an important part of the sporting and social life of Los Nietos, and the marina was first proposed by a group of around 80 holidaymakers in the summer of 1952. Construction began the following year and was completed in the summer, but the current building which is home to the club dates from much later, and replaced the original wooden structure.
Sailors from Los Nietos have achieved considerable success in national and international regattas, and the current installations include honours boards recording important victories achieved both in the Mar Menor and elsewhere.
Visitors are welcome to stroll around the marina and enjoy refreshments in the café bar from 9.00 to 14.00 and 16.00 to 19.00 in summer and from 9.00 to 14.00 for the rest of the year.
