The Club Náutico of Águilas contributes to national nature clean-up event
Efforts to reduce the prevalence of waste along the coastline of Águilas
The annual “1m2 contra la basuraleza” evento, which encourages people all over Spain to clear away litter and plastic waste from just one square metres of open countryside, has been supported again this year by the Club Náutico of Águilas, with around 100 volunteers collecting plastics from some of the coves and beaches along the 28 kilometres of coastline on 7th June.
All in all, more than 12,000 volunteers nationwide took part in this year’s 9th edition of “1m2 contra la basuraleza”, gathering waste at 745 locations across the country and commemorating World Environment Day on 5th June and World Oceans Day on 8th June.
