Terra Natura Murcia renews its national tourism quality award for the eighth year running
Terra Natura is the only theme park in the Region of Murcia to hold the SICTED seal

Terra Natura Murcia has renewed its SICTED tourism quality award once again, keeping the national seal for the eighth year in a row. The recognition comes from Spain’s Secretary of State for Tourism and reflects continued standards in service, safety and how visitors experience the park.
The SICTED programme looks at how tourism businesses are run day to day, from staff training and accessibility to sustainability and overall quality. In the Region of Murcia, Terra Natura is still the only theme park to meet those standards.
This year’s renewal follows a busy period of changes and improvements made during 2024 and 2025. Much of the work has focused on conservation, education and making the park easier and more enjoyable to visit. Within the zoo, conservation and research work has been strengthened through partnerships with universities, educational signage has been updated, and a new space, Tommy’s Farm, has opened. Kids can enjoy getting close to small domestic animals at the new Tommy’s Farm.
The park has continued to provide visits adapted for people with disabilities and their work with local organisations. In the water park, safety and cleanliness remain a priority, with the renewal of the European SISSWA certificate. Summer programmes included family activities, live music and entertainment.
Elsewhere in the park, new cafés and eating areas have opened, and the food options have been updated in general. More sustainable practices have also been introduced, including changes to drinks packaging. Maintenance work has improved the park throughout, with better accessibility and upgraded showers and flooring. Staff training has also been stepped up, with more focus on leadership and using AI to help teams work more efficiently.
According to park director Gustavo Martínez, the SICTED seal gives visitors confidence and encourages the Terra Natura team to keep raising standards.
