Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

Supermarket opening hours in Murcia on March 19, Father's Day
Since this Thursday is a public holiday in the Region of Murcia, most of the bigger stores and businesses will alter their opening hours

Shopping centres
- Nueva Condomina will open its retail stores, restaurants, gym, cinema and leisure areas
- Thader shopping centre will also be fully open
- Noria Outlet has confirmed it will open for the holiday
- Atalayas shopping centre will open its doors as normal
- Dos Mares shopping centre lists March 19 as an authorised opening day
- Espacio Mediterráneo will open all its shops
- Parque Almenara in Lorca will also open for the holiday
Stores
- El Corte Inglés stores in Murcia and Cartagena will open from 11am to 9pm
- Ikea will open from 11pm to 8pm
- MediaMarkt stores will open with varying hours, so check your local before heading out
- Nueva Condomina: 11am to 9pm
- Ronda Sur: 10am to 10pm
- Cartagena: 11am to 9pm
- Leroy Merlin will also be open, although hours may vary by location, so checking in advance is recommended
Supermarkets
- Supermarket opening varies depending on the chain.
- Carrefour stores will open on Father’s Day
- Alcampo, located within Thader shopping centre, will also be open
- Mercadona supermarkets will remain closed
- Lidl stores will open, although customers are advised to check individual store hours
