Storms, sunshine and 38°C ahead in Murcia: Weather forecast August 10-13
Parts of Murcia have been issued a yellow warning for storms and heavy rain on Monday before temperatures climb back towards 40°C
Weather outlook on Monday August 10
It's not going to be entirely plain sailing weather-wise in the Region of Murcia this week. Monday could bring some lively thunderstorms and heavy downpours, with AEMET issuing a yellow warning for parts of the Region, but the unsettled start won't last long. Temperatures will climb again from Tuesday, with highs around 38°C expected through much of the week.
Monday August 10
The week gets off to an unsettled start, with AEMET issuing a yellow warning for rain and thunderstorms from 2pm until 8pm in the Vega del Segura. Storms could bring hail and very strong wind gusts, while rainfall could reach 20mm in an hour.
Away from the storms, temperatures will still be high, reaching around 36°C, but conditions should become increasingly cloudy during the afternoon as the storms develop.
Tuesday August 11
The storms should be out of the way by Tuesday, leaving hot and mostly sunny conditions across the Region. Temperatures will rise again, reaching around 38°C, with another warm night ahead.
For anyone hoping to get outside, the morning should be the more comfortable part of the day, with the heat becoming increasingly intense through the afternoon.
Wednesday August 12
It's eclipse day, and the weather should be considerably calmer than Monday. Expect another very hot day, with temperatures around 38°C and generally sunny or partly cloudy skies.
The evening forecast will be particularly important for anyone planning to watch the eclipse, which takes place close to sunset. At the moment, there is no weather warning affecting the Region for Wednesday, although cloud levels will be worth checking as the event gets closer.
Thursday August 13
The heat continues, with another day of around 38°C expected across much of the Region. Skies should remain mostly sunny, although it will be breezy at times during the afternoon.
There are currently no AEMET weather warnings showing for Thursday, but after Monday's storms and with temperatures still close to 40°C, it's another day to take the usual precautions during the hottest part of the afternoon.
