Cartagena will once again travel back more than 2,200 years this September as the city comes alive for its famous Carthaginians & Romans Festival.
The annual celebration is one of the biggest events on the Cartagena calendar, attracting thousands of people who come to see the city transformed by historical costumes, music, marching bands, street entertainment and spectacular recreations inspired by the battles between the Carthaginians and Romans.
And for anyone who wants to experience the atmosphere without having to worry about driving and parking, Raquel Tours is organising a special coach trip to the festival on Saturday September 26 alongside a bird’s eye view of the breathtaking parade.
The trip gives visitors free time to explore Cartagena before meeting up with the group for the evening festivities and famous parade.
The Carthaginians & Romans Festival is particularly impressive once the main celebrations get underway, with thousands of participants taking part in the colourful historical events.
The evening parade is one of the highlights, with elaborate costumes, historical characters, music and large groups making their way through the city.
