Spain weekend weather forecast November 28-December 1
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
Dry, bright and warm conditions lead Spain into December before the weather turns
Average temperatures expected on Saturday November 30
Meteorological winter begins this Sunday December 1 but before we welcome the new month, much of Spain will enjoy a few more days of spring-like weather as the anti-cyclone holds firm.
Thursday November 28
Dense fog, especially in the early mornings, will replace the rain in most parts and Castilla-La Mancha and Castilla Leon have been issued with a yellow alert as visibility will be very poor. Elsewhere though, the fine weather will continue with predominantly clear or partly cloudy skies.
Only in the far west of the country will the approach of a front cause an increase in cloudiness at the end of the day.
The temperatures have been mild all week in the Mediterranean so no changes are expected here on Thursday, but the thermometers will start to climb everywhere else, with parts of the Canary Islands even tipped to hit 30ºC.
Friday November 29
The morning mist and fog will persist on the Mediterranean coast, the Ebro and valleys in the northeast on Friday, but the weather alerts have been lifted.
An approaching Atlantic front will result in overcast skies and showery spells in the far north, and there’s a slight chance of light rain in parts of the west as well. On the other hand, Saharan dust is forecast to dust the Canary Islands, and this could easily spread to much of southern Spain.
For the most part though, Friday will be dry and pleasant and daytime temperatures will increase across the board, most noticeably in the southeast.
Saturday November 30
The last day of the month will be settled in most of the country with the exception of the northwest and the northern half of the Mediterranean, where cloudy skies and some rain are expected.
The mercury is still on the rise, in Galicia and western
Andalucía in particular, although the east of Spain and the islands could experience some dips.
Sunday December 1
Winter officially arrives on December 1 and with it comes change. The high pressure that brought us mild temperatures and dry skies earlier in the week will retreat to the Mediterranean area, allowing the passage of an Atlantic front that will probably leave abundant rain accompanied by occasional storms in a good part of the northwest.
Morning mists and fog along the entire east coast of Spain and the Balearic islands should lift fairly quickly, but the day will still be mostly cloudy and a dull.
Maximum temperatures will tend to fall in most of the country, with no major changes expected on Sunday night.
