September 6 and 7 Wine and traditional music at the grape-picking fiesta in Yecla
Tastings and dancing in the Parque de la Constitución in Yecla
Now that the annual fiestas celebrating grape-picking season and the begniing of a new cycle of wine production have come to a close in Jumilla, in northern Murcia, it’s the turn of the neighbours in Yecla to hold their own “Fiesta de la Vendimia” on 6th and 7th September.
This event is a blend of wine and traditional folk music and dancing, with performances by groups from Segovia, Murcia and Yecla taking part in the Parque de la Constitución while alongside there are tastings of tapas and wine provided by businesses affiliated to the Wine Route of Yecla. Bookings for the tastings can be made online here.
This is just a precursor to the large annual fair in Yecla, which this year takes place from 11th to 20th September.
