September 5 Free all-night rock festival in San Miguel de Salinas
Seven acts will take to the stage in San Miguel this Saturday evening from 8pm
San Miguel de Salinas is preparing for a huge night of live music this Saturday September 5, when the Bargustra Rock Festival 2026 brings more than nine hours of rock, punk and ska to the town.
The free event will take place at the municipal marquee, getting underway at 8pm and continuing until 5.30am, with seven acts scheduled to perform throughout the night.
The programme includes live bands, tribute acts and DJs, offering plenty of music for fans of Spanish rock, punk and ska without the need to buy a ticket.
The festival is expected to attract music fans from San Miguel de Salinas and across the Vega Baja, with organisers hoping to establish Bargustra Rock as a major annual event in the area.
For councilman Óscar Patiño, putting on an event of this size involves considerably more work than the single night of music might suggest.
"It seems like a simple task, but the truth is that it requires coordination over many months," explains Patiño.
He says everything from security and the bar arrangements to tendering processes, sound, lighting, dressing rooms, technicians and the individual requirements of each band has to be organised well in advance.
The line-up was already "practically 90% complete" at the beginning of the year, with the remaining details finalised in the months leading up to the festival. Now the organisers are waiting to see just how many people turn up.
Because admission is free, organisers don't know exactly how many people will attend on the night.
The municipal marquee can accommodate around 1,000 people, while additional outdoor areas will be available if the crowds exceed expectations.
"We're a bit worried because we don't really know how many people are going to come," admits Patiño.
However, he is hopeful that the venue will be well filled during the evening and into the early hours.
Getting to the festival should also be relatively straightforward, with parking available around the Ronda Oeste area, particularly around the newer developments close to the San Miguel and SUSA sectors.
The festival kicks off at 8pm with Pedrock DJ, who will open the night with a set focused on punk and ska.
At 9pm, Águila will take to the stage with a tribute to Extremoduro, one of the most influential names in Spanish rock.
The music continues at 10.40pm with Las Moskas Retrompeteras, followed by Josexico Piperrak at midnight.
Things will then continue well into the early hours, with Fe de Ratas performing from 1.40am until 3am.
The Ska-P tribute band Ska-Pa will follow from 3.20am to 4.30am, before Tokipinhadiscos closes the festival with a final DJ set from 4.30am until 5.30am.
That means anyone who has the stamina can enjoy live music and DJ sets from the evening right through until sunrise.
There will also be more than just music on offer, with the official Bargustra Rock Festival T-shirts available to buy. The merchandise is being produced by Vega Baja-based company La Vega Baja Clothing.
Organisers are also working on bringing food trucks to the area around the marquee, giving festival-goers the chance to grab something to eat without having to leave the event.
