September 27 Almasäla in the Conciertos Sentidos season in Barranda
A free concert in the musical capital of the Caravaca countryside
The small village of Barranda in the municipality of Caravaca de la Cruz has a population of only around 800 but it is home to an important ethnic music and a host of free musical events, the latest of which is this concert by Almasäla, a duo comprising Guillermo Castro and Paloma Povedano, two musicians from Andalucía.
Their style blends the genres of flamenco, jazz, Contemporary music and both eastern and Mediterranean sounds, ranging from electronic to acoustic, while their compositions are highly reflective and poetic.
The concert, which begins at 12.30 at the Museo Música Étnica in Barranda (doors open at 12.00), is the latest in this years’ “Conciertos Sentidos” season. Admission is free of charge.
