September 20 Free guided hike in the Sierra del Algarrobo in Mazarrón
A 9.5-kilometre mountain walk in the mountains to the west of Mazarrón
The regular free guided hikes laid on by the tourist office of Mazarrón continue on Sunday 20th September with this 9-km walk in the Sierra del Algarrobo, the mountains to the west of the town which reach their highest point at 713 metres above sea level, making them the highest point in the Campo de Cartagena.
The walk begins at 17.00 in the Rambla de los Rincones, from where the route follows the Rambla de la Perdiz and then a wooded path to the Pico del Agarrobo, passing by the Tetica de Peñarrodada. Despite the distance it is described as being relatively easy and the trip is expected to last approximately three and a half hours.
Although the event is free of charge prior registration is required online here. Please bring plenty of drinking water and protection against the sun, and note that pets are not welcome.
