Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
September 16 to 22 European Mobility Week activities in Jumilla
Cycling, walking and a photocall as Jumilla raises awareness of the need to eliminate unnecessary car travel
Town Halls all over Spain are preparing activities to mark European Mobility Week in the third week of September, and in Jumilla in the north of the Region of Murcia the program decided upon is as follows:
September 16 to 22: Photocall on Paseo Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola, making it possible for anyone and everyone to take part in the campaign. Once your photo os taken please share it on social media sites using the hashtag #JumillaSeMueve2024 and tagging in Ayuntamiento de Jumilla on Facebook and/or Instagram. All of those taking part before 11.59 on 20th September are automatically eligible for the prize draw.
Thursday September 19: A march in collaboration with the local branch of the Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer de Jumilla starting on Paseo Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola. All participants receive a free backpack and are entered in the free draw.
Sunday September 22: The Marcha Cicloturista Jumilla se Mueve, a cycle ride through the streets of the town, not only on bikes but also on scooters, skateboards, or on foot, starting and ending on Paseo Lorenzo Guardiola. All those taking part receive a commemorative t-shirt and a snack, while for those who don’t Fancy the walk there is a zumba class on the Paseo. The morning’s activities are scheduled to start at 10.00m and again all participants are entered into the prize draw.
This is also World Car Free Day and main streets in the town centre will be closed to motor traffic until after the Marcha Cicloturista has finished.
The aim of the campaign is to make people aware of the need to reduce the amount of unnecessary car travel they use, boosting public health and the environment.
Prizes in the photocall draw include two bikes, two cycling helmets and a scooter.
