September 13 and 14 Spanish Triathlon championships in Águilas

The main races for men and women take place on Saturday afternoon and evening

Four Spanish federation triathlon events are taking place in Águilas over the weekend of 13^th and 14^th September, namely the national Triathlon Sprint, Paralympic Triathlon, Inclusive Triathlon and Triathlon Club championship (which features younger age group athletes), and competitors from all over the country are registered to take part.

Over recent years Águilas has become one of the leading triathlon venues in Spain, its calm water favouring the swimming legs and the flat road along the shore making it perfect for the running and cycling elements. There is a specialized local triathlon club, and the town won a national prize for its contribution to sport in 2023.

The events of the weekend include the following:

Spanish Triathlon Sprint championship

Saturday: Men’s absolute at 17.00, Women’s Elite at 19.00, Age groups starting at 14.30

Sunday: Classification for younger age groups at 9.00, finals at 12.00.

Mixed Talent Triathlon for younger age groups

Saturday from 9.00.

Paralympic Triathlon

Saturday from 11.30.

Inclusive Triathlon

Sunday from 13.30.
