October 31 Two events in the Caravaca Flamenco Festival
A box percussion workshop and Puro Flamenco in the centre of Caravaca de la Cruz
The third annual Caravaca Flamenco Festival continues on Saturday 31st October with two events during the evening, designed to attract both true devotees of “pure flamenco” and those who have little more than a passing interest.
The first takes place in the open air in Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz at 18.00 and is a workshop box percussion playing by Pepe Abellán. Abellán has been holding these participative sessions in many parts of the Region of Murcia over the last few years and they have proved extremely popular!
The entertainment continues at 20.30 in the church of San Sebastián with “Puro Flamenco”, a dance show put together by Daniel Valera, with the participation of vocalist Ana Mochón, guitarist Daniel Valseca and percussionist Miguel Ángel Orengo. Valera joined the Ballet Nacional de España at the age of 20 and has enjoyed a long and distinguished career as both performer and teacher.
