October 30 Concierto de Aranjuez at the Caravaca flamenco festival
The Murcia Symphony Orchestra and Rainer María Nero at the Teatro Thuillier
The Third annual Caravaca Flamenco Festival gets under way on Friday 30th October with a performance by the Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonardo Martínez of Joaquín Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez”, featuring guest guitarist Rainer María Nero at the Teatro Thuillier.
This piece was written in 1939 as the Civil War ended and is by some distance Rodrigo's best-known and most widely acclaimed work, cementing his reputation as one of the most important Spanish composers of the 20th century.
The performance on 30th October begins at 20.30.
