October 3 to November 9 Art exhibition of images of Santa Catalina in Jumilla
“Ceci n’est pas une Santa Catalina” at the Museum of Ethnography and Natural Science in Jumilla
A group of 25 artists have collaborated to produce this exhibition, featuring a variety of diverse techniques and styles to represent in their own way a precious 16th-century statue of Santa de Alejandría (Saint Catherine of Alexandria).
The title of the exhibition is derived from René Magritte’s famously challenging 1929 painting “Ceci n'est pas une pipe”, which used humour to question the validity of the relationship between words and objects.
This exhibition can be visited at the Museum of Ethnography and Natural Science until Saturday 9th November (opening hours Tuesday to Saturday 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00, Sundays 11.00 to 14.00).
