October 29 The Concierto de Aranjuez at the Winter Theatre in San Javier
Guitarist Rainer Maria Nero and the OSRM in the first event of the 2026 Fall Music Fest in San Javier
Classical guitarist Rainer Maria Nero and the Region of Murcia Symphony Orchestra (OSRM) under the baton of Leonardo Martínez are given the honour of opening the Fall Music Fest of San Javier this year, performing the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo at the Teatro de Invierno in Parque Almansa on Thursday 29th October.
This piece was written in 1939 as the Civil War ended and is by some distance Rodrigo's best-known and most widely acclaimed work, cementing his reputation as one of the most important Spanish composers of the 20th century. It’s one of those pieces of music which not everyone knows by name, but which almost everyone recognizes instantly even today as soon as they hear it!
The performance begins with a selection of other pieces played by Rainer Maria Nero at 20.30 with tickets priced at 15 euros and available online here.
This is the first event in the season, which continues on the first three Thursday evenings of November, with the schedule including the following:
November 5 – Young guitarist Pedro Navarro and his trio on the ground floor of the Town Hall (admission free of charge).
November 12 – Violinist Antonio García Egea, from Murcia, leads the Ensemble Meyerbeer quintet in a performance of Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” on the ground floor of the Town Hall (admission free of charge).
November 19 - Flamenco dancer Daniel Valera, who works at the Conservatorio de Danza in Murcia, and his show “Flamenco”, on the ground floor of the Town Hall (admission free of charge).
