October 24 The Hochsauerlandskreis Symphony Orchestra in Jumilla
A program of works by Beethoven and local composers at the Teatro Vico in Jumilla
The High Sauerland district is located in the north-east of Germany, sharing borders with Belgium and the Netherlands, and the local symphony orchestra (conductor Marcos Kopf) is a source of great pride.
On this occasion they are offering a concert at the Teatro Vico in Jumilla, with the programme including Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy (op. 80) performed by Gerd Schüttler-Char, the choir of the Hochsauerlandskreis music school and the Diatessaron choir from Molina de Segura. Other works include pieces by local Jumilla composers Julián Santos, Roque Baños and Andrés Reukauf, whose “Himno de las Campana de Paz” features a solo playedon bells made from old Second World War bombs.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 20.00, are available from the theatre box office on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday evenings between 18.00 and 20.00 at 5, 10 and 15 euros, with funds being donated to the European Fit Kid charity.
