October 16 to 18 Lorca shows off its attractions at the Rueda Inland Tourism Fair in Totana
The Semana Santa processions, Lorca castle and the old city centre are the main features of the Lorca presence in the event
The town of Totana in south-western Murcia is showcasing the inland charm of the Region of Murcia from 16th to October when the Rueda Inland Tourism Fair returns for its third edition, bringing together 24 municipalities for a weekend of food, culture, crafts, nature and local traditions in the Plaza de la Constitución, and the neighbouring municipality of Lorca is playing its part as it has done in the last two years.
The tourist office is manning its own promotional stand, on top of which special events featured on the programme include the following:
Saturday October 17
11.35: Performance by the Grupo Folclórico Virgen de las Huertas.
12.30: A jewellery workshop activity with Nataly Artesana.
The website of the event summarizes Lorca by mentioning its culture, history and other charms, as well as the numerous churches, palatial buildings and old noble houses in the city.
Mention is also made, of course, of the castle which stands above the city, the incredible views over the vast Lorca countryside, the spectacular Semana Santa processions and the rich gastronomy.
The 24 municipalities taking part in the Rueda fair this year are Abanilla, Albudeite, Aledo, Alguazas, Alhama de Murcia, Archena, Blanca, Beniel, Bullas, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cartagena, Cehegín, Ceutí, Cieza, Fortuna, Jumilla, Lorca, Lorquí, Molina de Segura, Moratalla, Mula, Puerto Lumbreras, Santomera and Totana.

For more local information about Lorca, including news and what’s on, enquire at the tourist office (located in the same building, telephone 968 441914, email lorcaturismo@lorca.es), or visit the home page of Lorca Today.
