October 11 A festival of flamenco and copla music in San Javier
Topping the bill are Jesús Castilla and Maribel Castillo at the winter theatre in San Javier
The annual San Javier Flamenco and Copla festival, celebrating two of Spain’s most representative musical traditions, is organized by the “Flamenco y Copla El Arte” association and is being held this year on Saturday 11th October at 21.00 in the Teatro de Invierno (the winter theatre) in Parque Almansa, the centre of the town.
Among the leading flamenco performers present is singer Jesús Castilla from Cádiz, winner of the prestigious “Melón de Oro” at the annual flamenco festival of Lo Ferro in 2024, accompanied by guitarist Niño Manuel and handclapping by Luis Monje de Pijote and Naim Real.
The copla is represented on this occasion by Maribel Castillo, known for her TV appearances and especially her performance as Isabel Pantoja in “A tu vera”.
Also on the bill are local guitarist Valentín and the Kimbara flamenco academy, in a gala presented by Luis Terry and Laura Pérez.
Tickets will be on sale on the door at 5 euros (free of charge for pensioners).
