San Javier presents a packed programme of live music, traditional food, fireworks and masses
Get ready to join in the festive fun in San Javier as the town gears up for its Patron Saint Fiestas, celebrating the life and legacy of San Francisco Javier.
From November 22 to December 8, the streets of San Javier will come alive with music, dance and merriment, featuring a packed programme of events for all ages.
With everything from traditional tapas and live music to fireworks, concerts and parades, there's something for everyone in this vibrant and action-packed celebration.
Friday November 22
9pm: Fiestas kick off with traditional tapas and live music with DJ Javi Perez.
10.30pm: Proclamation from the balcony of the Town Hall.
From midnight: ‘Charamita’ through the streets.
Saturday November 23
10pm: Youth election and coronation gala in the festival tent.
- Entertainment by the Duo Serendipity & an exciting performance by tightrope walker Ivo Stankoff.
Sunday November 24
Hermitage Route: Departs at 6am for the longer route and 9am for the shorter one.
10.30am: Artisan market.
6pm: Children’s election and coronation gala in the festival tent.
- Special performance of The Toy Factory
Friday November 29
Winter Theatre Gala: Pirate, Sailor, Peasant
The gala begins at 8pm and admission is free until capacity is reached.
An evening of thrills and excitement featuring juggling and the San Javier Conservatory of Music presented by Beatriz Salazar.
Inauguration of the fairground
10pm: Grand opening of the fairgrounds to the rhythm of a brass band and jugglers.
- Special performance by the Duo Simetrica.
- Transfers will be provided between the festival tent and the Teatro del Invierno all evening, between 6pm and 10pm.
Saturday November 30
Children’s Day and traditional cake tastings in Plaza de España
From 9am: The tourist train will take to the streets, with different routes through the streets and a stop in Plaza de España.
From 11am: Face painting and a variety of children’s entertainment, along with a special performance featuring all your favourite characters.
1pm: Traditional cake tasting and children’s workshops.
6pm: Doors open. Tickets 10 euros plus 1 euro administration fee.
Sunday December 1
Vermouth in Parque Almansa
12.30pm: Enjoying a refreshing vermouth to the rhythms of CHE Swing & Marina.
- Vermouth tasting and tapas while supplies last.
4pm: Afternoon in the festival tent with live entertainment from the musical group La Calle.
6pm: Santa Cecilia concert in the Teatro del Invierno and the 50th Anniversary celebration of the San Javier Library, with a performance by the San Javier Symphonic Band.
Monday December 2
Holy Vespers
7.30pm: Special offering at the Church of San Francisco Javier.
10.30pm: Performance by the Orquesta La Mundial in the festival tent.
Tuesday December 3
San Francisco Javier Day
8am: Performance by the San Javier Music Band.
11.30am: Mass in honour of San Francisco Javier.
1pm: Concert by the Air Force Academy’s Music Band in the Teatro del Invierno.
- The group will perform well-known music soundtracks. Admission is free until capacity is reached.
4pm: Afternoon in the festival tent with a performance by Los Happys.
6pm: Mass in honour of San Francisco Javier.
- The traditional Patron Saint Procession will leave after the mass.
- Following this, a huge fireworks display in Plaza de España and performances by local tenor Jesus Hernandez and Mayte Macanas, contestant in OT 2006.
Wednesday December 4
Day of the Elderly and Inclusion, organised by the Festival Committee
12.30pm: Traditional lunch for the elderly of San Javier in the festival tent.
- Special performance by Alberto Sanz.
5pm: Children and youth activities with DJ Stephan and a special performance of Rock Black Bullets.
Thursday December 5
9pm: Winter Fest in the festival tent.
- Ticket price 10 euros plus 1 euro administration fee.
Friday December 6
Clubs Day in the Celebration Enclosure
10.30am: Las Peñas social day.
12pm-1pm: Musical performance by the group Dobleme, promoted by the Youth Council.
1pm-2pm: Performance by the Kanelaje group.
- Paella for all attendees.
4pm: Fun afternoon with a performance by Dr. Lopez.
10.30pm: Concert by Efecto Mariposa in the festival tent, with animation by Miguel Vizcaino before and after the performance.
Saturday December 7
Parades and concerts
12pm: Parade leaves from Parque Almansa.
9.30pm: Camela 30th Anniversary Concert in the festival tent.
- Doors open at 9.30pm. Ticket price 20 euros plus 2 euros administration fee.
Sunday December 8
Day of the Floats
4pm: Gathering before the procession at the IES Mar Menor.
5pm: The grand parade begins, departing from IES Mar Menor and travelling through Avenida Aviacion Espanola towards Parque Almansa.
8pm: Awards ceremony before the Patron Saint Fiestas 2024 are brought to a close in the festival tent.
