November 29 The Spanish rally driving championship comes to the Lorca countryside
The cars racing up to Campo López will shatter the peace and quiet of the mountains just outside Lorca!
The peace and quiet of the tiny village of Campo López, in the mountains between Lorca and Mazarrón, will be disturbed over the weekend on 29th November when the winding road leading to it hosts the latest round in the Spanish rally driving championship.
This is the 16th time the event has been held on this road and around 40 drivers (and co-drivers) are taking part over a 4.32-km course on the RM-D8 road. The official competition begins at 10.00 although the road will be closed to other traffic an hour beforehand, so spectators will have to make an early start!
For more local events, news and visiting information contact the tourist office at the Palacio de Guevara (telephone 968 441914) or go to the home page of Lorca Today.
