November 22 to 24 Agricultural show in Jumilla

Jumilla celebrates its agricultural wealth with a weekend of tastings and demonstrations

The annual agricultural fair and show in Jumilla is being held over the weekend of November 22 to 24 with over 30 stands of displays, talks and wine tasting, as well as the now traditional tractor and trailer manoeuvrability competition on the Sunday morning.

It would be easy to run away with the idea that agriculture throughout the large rural municipality of Jumilla consists only of vineyards, but there are plenty of other crops: the flat plains lend themselves to cereal farming, while orchards produce pears of such high quality that, like the local wine, have been awarded Denomination of Origin status – Jumilla is the largest producer of Ercolina pears in Europe!

Cattle and dairy farming also contribute to the agricultural panorama in the municipality. nd ch

The events scheduled at the fair in Paseo Poeta Lorenzo Guardiola (click for map) include the following:

Friday November 22

17.00: The fair opens.

17.30: Displays at the stalls and stands.

20.00: Closing time.

Saturday November 23

10.00: Opening plus official speeches at 10.30.

11.00: Visit the stands and stalls.

12.00: Wine tasting with Diego Cutillas.

20.30: Closing time.

Sunday November 24

10.00: Opening time.

10.30: The tractor and trailer manoeuvrability competition.

15.00: Closing time.
