November 20 Anacronía in concert in Alhama de Murcia
Historical instruments feature in the music of the 18th century during the ECOS ancient music festival
The ECOS ancient music festival, which has become a fixture in the late summer and autumn cultural calendar of Murcia in recent years and is now celebrating its 10th edition and is taking place this year between 30th October and 21st November, with 6 groups and artists performing at different venues in Alhama de Murcia, Aledo, Totana, Librilla, Pliego and Mula.
One of the later dates is on Friday 20th November, when the parish church of San Lázaro Obispo in Alhama welcomes Anacronía, a group formed in 2020 by graduates from the music conservatories of The Lague, Lyon, Graz, Oporto, Cataluña and Murcia. In their “Metastasio y Mariana” concert they play historical instruments and search for what they refer to as “anachronisms” in music, representing moments of transition when different styles and musical idioms co-existed: on this occasion the focus is on the private musical soirees of the 18th century.
The concert begins at 21.00 and tickets are available online here at 10 euros (5 euros for under-40s and residents of the municipality).
