November 17 Tenor Martín Savi offers a free recital in Caravaca de la Cruz
The concert is held at the Basílica de la Vera Cruz in Caravaca, where new external lighting is being premiered
The castle and Basílica de la Vera Cruz in Caravaca will be celebrating the switching on of new external lighting for the first time on Monday 17th November with a recital by Argentinian tenor Martín Savi, although the singer will be performing inside the building rather than braving the cool autumn evening air in the north-west of Murcia.
Martin Savi is the first guest in a series of concerts entitled “Sinfonías a través de monumentos históricos”. At just 21 years of age he has already performed with internationally known stars such José Carreras, Il Divo and Julio Iglesias, with whom he recorded at Luna Park. Similarly, his voice has been heard at venues including the Olympic Stadium in Rome, the Basilica of Saint Francis and the Vatican, where he performed for Pope Francis.
The concert begins at 19.00 and admission is free of charge as the Town Hall encourages people to see the improvements which have been made outside the Basilica in recent months – apart from the new lighting, which required an investment of 200,000 euros, the patio has been re-surfaced and new rainwater drainage systems installed, at a further cost of 658,000 euros, since the Holy Jubilee Year in 2024.
