November 1 Closing night of the 2025 Flamenco Festival in Caravaca de la Cruz
A free open-air percussion workshop and a performance by exciting young dancer Águeda Saavedra in Caravaca
Following the success of last year’s inaugural edition, Caravaca de la Cruz is once again holding its own Flamenco Festival in 2025, featuring six performances between 22nd October and 1st November at a selection of some of the most iconic venues in the city, and this final event is a double header in the Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz and at the Teatro Thuillier.
The evening begins in the Plaza de San Juan de la Cruz at 18.00 when renowned flamenco percussionist Pepe Abellán takes charge of a “cajonada” workshop, in which members of the public are invited to try their hand at playing the “cajón”, a kind of box drum on which flamenco percussionists sit while playing.
This is followed at 20.30 by the final concert in the Teatro Thuillier, where dancer Águeda Saavedra presents her “Connatural”, a chance to see one of the rising stars in the current flamenco scene.
Admission to both events is free of charge.
