New 24-hour tourist information point to open in Los Narejos by the summer
Another addition to the remodelled Avenida Nalón in Los Narejos
Six months after the project was announced, work is now under way in Los Alcázares to create a new tourist office in Avenida Río Nalón in Los Narejos, where a combination of staffing and information technology will offer users service and information 24 hours a day.
With a budget calculated at precisely 151,781.50 euros (including IVA) and supported by EU Next Generation funding, if everything proceeds according to plan the new office should be operational by the end of June this year.
The new facility is to occupy an area of approximately 40 square metres on one of the busiest streets in the municipality, close to hotels, other tourist accommodation and numerous shops and restaurants. Furthermore, the street has recently undergone a modernization process, and the new glass-fronted office, equipped with air conditioning, is designed to offer a modern and fully accessible service suited to the needs of the 21st century visitor.
The application of new technology means that once the office is up and running it will be possible to plan visiting schedules and activities at all times of day, with touch screens giving accessibility to information 24/7.
AS for the building itself, it will be glass-fronted and will have a small garden area outside as well as air conditioning inside, providing a friendly and welcoming ambience as well as the most up-to-date facilities.
