Nearly 18,000 cruise passengers arriving in Cartagena with seven cruise ships due in six days
Cartagena prepares for one of its busiest cruise weeks of the year with AIDACosma, Disney Dream and Queen Anne among arrivals

The port of Cartagena is getting ready for a hectic week as seven cruise ships are docking in just six days, bringing 18,000 international tourists.
The first ships arrive on May 12 with a double call from the Mein Schiff 1, carrying around 2,900 passengers, and the Silver Spirit, with more than 600 cruise guests.
The following day, the impressive AIDACosma will dock with over 6,600 passengers on board, making it one of the biggest arrivals of the week.
May 14 will be one of the busiest days, with two ships arriving at the same time: the Disney Dream, with around 3,500 passengers, and the Seabourn Quest, bringing a further 500 visitors.
On May 15, the Queen Anne will bring a further 3,300 cruise passengers, while the week wraps up on May 17 with the arrival of the Silver Ray, carrying close to 700 passengers.
In total, this busy period will bring more than 18,000 visitors to the city through these cruise stops alone, bringing lots of trade to local shops, restaurants and other tourism spots in the historic centre of Cartagena.
This latest wave of arrivals forms part of an especially strong May for cruise tourism in Cartagena. Over the course of the month, 23 cruise ships are scheduled to arrive, with an estimated total of nearly 40,000 passengers, confirming the port's position as one of the leading cruise destinations in the western Mediterranean.
