Murcia weather forecast August 24-27: Temperatures head back towards 37°C this week
Monday could bring a thunderstorm, but the rest of the week is expected to be hot, dry and increasingly settled across Murcia
Weather outlook on Monday August 24
The Region of Murcia is in for a mixed start to the week, with Monday bringing the possibility of thunderstorms before hot and mostly settled weather takes over for the rest of the week.
After the unsettled conditions affecting parts of Spain, the Murcia forecast is looking considerably drier. However, anyone hoping for a complete break from the heat won’t get one just yet.
Monday August 24
Monday could bring some welcome relief from the heat in the form of a strong afternoon thunderstorm, although it won’t affect every part of the Region.
AEMET is forecasting partly sunny and hot conditions overall, with the chance of a thunderstorm developing during the afternoon. Temperatures in Murcia city are expected to reach around 35°C, while conditions could feel hotter during the warmest part of the day.
The risk of storms is likely to be more relevant inland and around higher ground, while coastal areas could escape the worst of the weather.
Tuesday August 25
The weather settles down on Tuesday, bringing plenty of sunshine and another rise in temperatures.
Murcia city is forecast to reach around 36°C, with lower humidity making the heat feel a little less oppressive.
Wednesday August 26
Wednesday looks similarly hot and largely dry, with cloud decreasing as the day progresses. Temperatures will hover around the high 30s inland but it will be several degrees cooler along the coast.
Thursday August 27
Thursday currently looks like the hottest day of the week so far, with temperatures in the likes of Lorca and Murcia city potentially reaching 37°C.
The forecast is for hot conditions with sunny spells and relatively low humidity, while the coast should benefit from sea breezes at times.
