May 30 to June 3 Youte Festival shoe fair in Caravaca de la Cruz
Jute footwear is one of the emblematic products of Caravaca
The 9th Youte Festival for professionals in the footwear sector is being held from May 30 to June 3 at the Patio de los Jesuitas in Caravaca de la Cruz, further consolidating the Region of Murcia’s important contribution to the shoe production and exports of Sapin.
During 2024 shoes from Murcia were exported with a value of over 96 million euros, according to the regional government, placing the Region among the top 4 of Spain’s 17 Autonomous Communities, and by the end of February the 2025 figure had already reached 21.26 million euros, mostly to Italy, France and Germany. Of special importance in Caravaca are the shoes made using jute fibre, one of the typical products of the area, and the sector employs over 1,900 people in the municipalities of Caravaca de la Cruz, Cehegín, Lorca and Alhama de Murcia.
Present at the fair in Caravaca will be sales delegations from the UK, Dubai and USA, among others.
