May 18 Intermezzo, Free Bohemian music concert in Los Alcázares
The classical music season continues at the Town Hall of Los Alcázares
As part of the 6th annual Intermezzo cycle of chamber music in Los Alcázares this fourth concert is a homage to Bohemian culture in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, featuring three composers whose music reflects the richness and diversity of the Bohemian spirit: passionate, introspective and deeply humane.
Nikolay Amani's String trio in D minor is not often performed but is ahighly expressive piece, revealing the romantic sensitivity of the Russian composer as well as his proficiency in composing chamber music.
Zoltan Kodály began to show his talent at an early age with a short Intermezzo Allegretto piece which is light-hearted and lyrical, showing the influence of Hungarian folk tunes while combining tradition and modernity.
Finally, Max Reger's Trio for Strings nº 1 in A major (Op. 77b) shows all his virtuoso emotional range in a fine example of the transition from late Romanticism to the expressive tensions of the 20th century.
The formers in Los Alcázares are DARLÍN DYLE (violin), RUMEN CVETKOV (viola) and CHRISTOPHE MORIN (cello), and the recital begins at 20.30 in the Town Hall with admission free of charge.
