May 15 to June 16 Exhibition of the 2025 Wine Horses harnesses and accoutrements in Caravaca
Relive the excitement and devotion of the Wine Horses race at the church of San José in Caravaca
The annual fiestas of Caravaca de la Cruz are over for another year, but there is still a chance to relive some of the splendour and devotion of the famed Running of the Wine Horses as the shawls, harnesses and other items in which the horses are dressed for the occasion.
Many of these items are worked on throughout the year as it is a source of great prestige for one of the “peña” groups to be awarded the prize for the best-dressed horse, and apart from being elaborately decorated objects they are also a symbol of the fervour with which the Caravaqueños live their fiestas!
The exhibition is open at the Convent Church of San José until June 16 between 11.00 and 14.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00, with admission free of charge.
