San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb
May 10 Caramelo de Cuba jazz trio in Águilas
An evening of top jazz and Cuban music at the Casino of Águilas
Caramelo de Cuba is a jazz pianist who was born in Havana and first started playing with Benny Moré and the Conjunto Casino. Since then he has worked with countless music stars, including Deborah J. Carter, Jerry González and Paquito D´Rivera from the world of jazz, Cuban stars Celia Cruz and Omara Portuondo and flamenco artists such as Diego “El Cigala”, Enrique Morente, Paco de Lucía and Josemi Carmona.
International recognition came his way especially with his 2011 album The Latin Jazz Corner and he won a Grammy for the album “Entre 20 Aguas”, on which he pays tribute to Paco de Lucía in the company of Chick Corea, Chucho Valdés and Michael Camilo.
His shows in Águilas on Saturday May 10 begin at 19.45 and 22.00 with tickets priced at 21 euros and available online here.
