San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

March 29 to April 5 Semana Santa processions and Easter services in Mojácar
Five traditional processions as Mojácar celebrates Easter week
Semana Santa (or Holy Week) in Mojácar is celebrated with a series of events leading up to Easter Sunday, the highlights being the five processions which take place in the old town.
For many the highlights are in the evening of Maundy Thursday, when the sculpted figure of Jesus passes through the old gate to the town, and the meeting on Good Friday morning between the figures of Jesus and his mother.
The programme for the celebrations of Semana in 2026 includes the following:
Sunday March 29, Palm Sunday
11.00: Blessing of the Palms in Plaza del Caño and the Procession of La Borriquilla, featuring a donkey, the means of transport Jesus used to enter Jerusalem, to the parish church, where Holy Mass is held.
Monday March 30
10.00: Holy Mass in the parish church of Santa María.
Tuesday March 31
21.30: A Via Crucis following the Stations of the Cross in the streets of the town.
Wednesday April 1
10.00: Holy Mass in the parish church of Santa María.
Thursday April 2, Maundy Thursday
18.30: The In Coena Domini (At the Table of the Lord) Mass in the parish church of Santa María.
22.30: Procession of the figures of Our Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth and Our Lady of Sorrows.
Friday April 3, Good Friday
12.00: Procession of the meeting between Jesus and his mother.
18.30: Passion Mass with the Adoration of the Cross in the parish church of Santa María.
22.30: The Procession of the Burial of Christ.
Saturday April 4
21.00: Easter Vigil begins in the parish church of Santa María.
Sunday April 5, Resurrection Sunday
11.00: Easter Mass in the parish church of Santa María, followed by the Procession of Christ Risen.
