March 15 Passion Play in Jumilla
The ancient Easter drama is performed at the Iglesia Mayor de Santiago in Jumilla
One of the key elements of the 600-year-old Easter Week traditions in Jumilla, in northern Murcia, is the Passion Play which narrates the event of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection, and in 2026 it is being performed on Sunday 15th March at the parish church of Santiago.
The performance begins at 12.30 and all are welcome to witness this drama, which underlies the feelings behind the Semana Santa processions in Jumilla which have been awarded International Tourist Interest status. Those attending are invited to make a donation of 10 euros.
