March 13 La Bohème opera by Puccini in Lorca
One of Puccini’s best-known works at the Auditorio Margarita Lozano in Lorca
La Bohème is a four-act opera recognized as one of the masterpieces of Italian opera composer Giacomo Puccini, and with a libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa was based on Scènes de la vie de Bohème (1851) by Henri Murger. As such it reflects the Bohemian lifestyle of Paris in the late-19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the love, poverty and sacrifices which characterized the times.
It was first performed in Turin in 1896 at the Teatro Regio, and since then La Bohéme has become one of the most frequently performed operas worldwide.
This performance by the soloists and orchestra of Opera 2001 and the chorus of the Coro Lírico Siciliano at the Auditorio Margarita Lozano in Lorca begins at 20.30 on Friday 13th March with tickets available online here at 25 and 32 euros.
