Luz Casal brings the house down in San Javier
A triumphant final evening of the annual Theatre, Music and Dance festival in San Javier
The 56th edition of the annual Theatre, Music and Dance festival in San Javier closed on Sunday evening with a concert by singer Luz Casal, who possesses one of the most distinctive and best-known voices in Spanish popular music, arguably outshining the other big names included in this year’s programme (such as Shakespeare, Cervantes, Plautus, the Japanese Yamato drummers and Els Joglars)!
Throughout the festival the open-air auditorium in Parque Almansa has been full for the performances, and this last evening was no exception as the artist performed songs associated not only with her own long career but also with big names such as Charles Aznavour and Chris Barron.
As August nears its end this was a fine way to conclude the series of major summer arts festivals in San Javier, beginning with the International Jazz Festival in late June and July and ending with this celebration of the performing arts.
The organizers are now hard at work compiling the programmes for the 2027 events, ensuring that San Javier will again be the focal point of dramatic and musical activity in the Mar Menor next summer!
