San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

Los Alcázares promotes its annual LGTBIQ+ festival at FITUR in Madrid
El Mar Menor Vibra con Orgullo is being held from July 9 to 12 in 2026
At the 2026 FITUR tourism fair in Madrid, which is being held from 21st to 25th January, there is a special pavilion devoted to LGTBIQ+ attractions, and on Thursday Los Alcázares made its presence felt there with its promotion of the 2026 “El Mar Menor vibra con Orgullo”, which Will take place in the municipality from 9th to 12th July.
This is a clear indication of the commitment of the town council to social values, equality and diversity, and is the 2025 edition of the festival was already a huge success this year’s event is expected to be even bigger! It was announced at FITUR that the opening gala will feature contributions from the artists Keunam, KUVE and Satín Greco, and the weekend will be a combination of leisure, culture, wellbeing and plenty of opportunities for people arriving from all over Spain to enjoy the attractions of Los Alcázares.
Following the presentation, those in attendance enjoyed a cocktail which has been named “El Mar Menor siente con orgullo” by its creator Mario Gallart, of the Royal Bliss hotel, and throughout the day visitors to the stand were greeted by Miss Meferina, Paca Merino and Pupi Poisson.
