Los Alcázares beaches receive S For Sustainability awards in Madrid
All 6 of the main beaches in Los Alcázares and Los Narejos qualified for the award
The main beaches of Los Alcázares have now officially received their “S for Sustainability” awards in Madrid during the annual FITUR tourism fair, the first time they have been adjudged to merit the award, and they thus join the ranks of the tourist offices in Los Narejos and Los Alcázares in being able to display the appropriate logo.
The “Q for Quality” awards ceremony was attended by local Mayor Mario Pérez Cervera and María José Díaz Aragón, the Councillor for Tourism, and all 6 of the main local beaches were included in the list of locations qualifying as Sustainable: those of La Concha, Carrión, Manzanares, El Espejo, Playa de las Palmeras and Los Narejos.
As Sra Díaz Aragón stated, this is an important step forward for the beaches of Los Alcázares and comes as a reward for all the efforts made to ensure that there is always safe access for all those wishing to visit the Mar Menor. At the same time, much work has gone into guaranteeing that the beaches and their use are as environmentally friendly as possible.
Above all, it reflects the commitment of the local government to sustainability and accessible tourism, both at the beaches and throughout the town.
