June 28 Mountain Bike tour of the Mar Menor

Rides of 60 and 70 km in memory of young rider Borja Gómez

June 28 Mountain Bike tour of the Mar MenorThe annual Mar Menor and Calblanque MTB tour is being held this year in memory of Borja Gómez, a young man who was a member of the Club MTB Playas San Javier until his unfortunate death last July in a motorbike accident in France.

This is the 15th edition of the event and it will be a particularly emotional one for many. Two separate routes are being organized, one of 60km and medium difficulty and the other of 70km and requiring more technical expertise and stamina. Both include a visit to the regional park of Calblanque. The rides end at the Puerto Tomás Maestre, where a ferry takes participants back to the Polideportivo in San Javier for a meal.

For more local events, news and visiting information contact the tourist offices of San Javier (main contact number 661 572285) or go to the home page of San Javier Today.
