June 6 The Ignasi Terraza Trio in concert at the Jazzazza club in Murcia
One of Europe’s top jazz pianists at Jazzazza in Algezares
The renowned jazz pianist returns to the Jazzazza club in the outskirts of Murcia (click for map) on Friday June 6, his first appearance there since 2016 although he played at the Mares de Papel festival in Puerto de Mazarrón last summer.
Already famed in Spain, Ignasi Terraza is now gaining an international reputation and has won the Jacksonville Internacional Jazz Piano Competition, one of the most prestigious of its kind around the world. Over the last 40 years he has played with artists such as Frank Wess, Lou Donaldson, Benny Goldson, John Faddis and Jesse Davis, and his trio is usually to be found on tour in Europe, the USA, South America and the Far East.
Influenced above all by Oscar Peterson and Ahmad Jamal, the line-up of the trio is completed by double bassist Andrés Lizón and drummer Esteve Pi.
Their concert at Jazzazza on 6th June begins at 22.00, with tickets available at 16 euros online here.
