San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

June 13 MuBBla Trail 2026 long-distance runs in Lorca
Distance racing on the hills and slopes around Lorca
The annual Mubbla Trail race organized by the Paso Blanco Easter Week brotherhood in Lorca has been slightly modified this year, with the start line moved to the Plaza de España in the heart of the old city, but the main distances for adults of 21 and 11 km remain unchanged.
The race takes place in the evening of Saturday 13th June and the route includes climbs and descents in the hills and mountains close by, including the Sierra de la Peñarrubia, the Cejo de los Enamorados, Lorca castle and the steep slopes of the old city centre.
Registration is priced from 25 euros for the 21-km race, 21 euros for the shorter distance and between 10 and 15 euros for younger age group races. There is also a 9.5-km hike, where registration is 21 euros (click here for further details, registration open until 23.59 on 8th June).
Racing begins between 19.30 and 20.00.
