Guidelines for submitting articles to San Javier Today
Hello, and thank you for choosing sanjavier.today to publicise your organisation’s info or event.
San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:
Send an email to editor@spaintodayonline.com or contact@murciatoday.com
Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

June 11 to 14 Fiestas in the Alhama de Murcia village of El Cañarico
Music, merriment and plenty of food in honour of San Antonio de Pádua
The village of El Cañarico, which lies at the foot of the Sierra de Carrascoy on the RM-603 road leading to Murcia from Mazarrón, is holding its annual fiestas in honour of San Antonio de Padua from June 12 to 15.
The program of events in the 2026 fiestas includes the following:
Thursday June 11
21.30: Buns and hot chocolate for all in the church of El Cañarico, in honour of San Antonio de Padua.
Friday June 12
21.30: Traditional “migas” competition, with local attempting to win the award for the best dish on the day. Beer and cold drinks are also served, an evening for all the family! Prize winners are announced at 22.30.
23.00: Live music from Dúo Campoamor accompanies a raffle with super prizes.
Saturday June 13
20.00: Children’s Day begins with monitors overseeing games, trampolines and the like, and popcorn and cold drinks are provided along with a snack.
23.00: Live music with Duo Serendipity, come and dance the night away!
00.30: Time for a little relaxation with churros and hot chocolate before the night ends with a firework display in honour of San Antonio.
Sunday June 14
10.30: A day for car and bike enthusiasts as the Cañarico team celebrates its birthday with a motorbike breakfast, with live music from cover band Bukera and Plan Murdock.
19.30: Choral Mass in honour of San Antonio and the Virgen del Carmen (inside the church).
20.00: A procession of the figure of San Antonio de Padua is followed by a snack at the church of El Cañarico.
