San Javier Today is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.

When submitting text to be included on San Javier Today, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

July 18 Mariza at the 2025 San Javier International Jazz Festival“The Queen of Fado”, as Mariza Nunes is sometimes known, is currently the most universal Portuguese artist and has performed on some of the world’s most important stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Sydney Opera House, and the Olympia in Paris. The public's recognition of her artistic greatness is reflected in more than thirty platinum records and countless national and international awards.

Born in Mozambique and raised in Lisbon, her repertoire, mainly consisting of classical and contemporary fado, includes numerous influences that enrich fado and give the genre greater global projection. On her first visit to Jazz San Javier, Mariza will present songs from her latest album "AMOR" and a selection of the most beautiful songs from her career, accompanied by a quintet of magnificent musicians.

This twelfth concert in the 27th edition of the San Javier Jazz festival begins at 22.00 at the open-air auditorium in Parque Almansa in the centre of San Javier. Tickets are priced at 40 euros.
